The Challenge
We were called out to inspect a property where the existing consumer unit was in a very unsafe condition. The old unit had no lid or protection, leaving live electrical parts exposed. This posed a serious risk of electric shock, fire, and non-compliance with current regulations.
Our Solution
For safety, we immediately recommended a full replacement consumer unit to bring the property up to standard. Our team supplied and installed a modern, fully compliant consumer unit with RCD and SPD protection.
The installation included:
• Removal of the old unsafe unit
• Fitting a new 18th Edition compliant consumer unit
• Full testing and certification on completion
• Clear labelling for circuits and improved protection for the whole property
